If there’s one thing that can absolutely be said about Ichinose Kotomi, it’s that she has amazing feet. Her feet (as well as her knees) are plastered all over the arc, even in the parts where she is a little kid. Damn, those lolicons at Kyoto Animation know how to get my jeans tight. (protip: I never wear jeans.)
If you asked me to name an anime I truly and utterly hated, my immediate response would probably be ‘Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha.’ I found the original series to be utterly horrible in every way, in spite of it being the work of my favorite director, Akiyuki Shinbo. I’d heard from a number of people that Nanoha A’s was much better and would justify the first season. To my surprise, it went above and beyond mere justification and was in fact one of the outright best anime I’ve seen in a long time. I’d go so far as to call it a masterpiece.
I think I’m going to start doing highlight posts on some of anime’s greatest OPs and EDs, since it’d likely be a lot of fun. As a way to sort of kick that off, this post is about some of the best EDs I’ve seen. EDs have a high tendency to be slower than OPs and feature less exciting videos, so I’ve had a long-time habit of skipping boring EDs after each episode, especially because I hate seeing the next episode previews. However, these are some EDs that are too great to skip. Now, while I never skip the ED when I like the song, it’s also rare that I stick around for the video, so to make this top 5 listing, it has to be a great song AND vid. Shows like Lucky Star with a different ed every ep don’t count.
(PLEASE NOTE: The first person who says anything along the lines of ‘wait till x episode, it’s x’ will be fucked in the lung by a tentacle monster. I already know all of the spoilers for this show, I already know where I’m gong to cry, shut the fuck up. I fucking hate those comments. Incidentally, if you haven’t seen Clannad, don’t fear spoilers. They’ll just make you want to watch the show more.)
Agent Yoru wo Iku is a song from the Idolm@ster game that is featured in Nico Nico Ryuuseigun and other Nico Nico videos. I really loved the part that’s featured in Ryuuseigun for being a catchy, cheery chorus with a really awesome dance that goes along with it. So I watched the full version.
This is a really awkward song. It starts off really jazzy and cool with a secret agent vibe that I enjoy a good bit. It’s very old-school feeling and fun. Then there’s a kind of awkward transition part before the song explodes into it’s super-poppy chorus. There’s some really jolly horns, upbeat vocals, and it’s be perfect smiling fun… if it weren’t for the bass. There’s this really low, heavy, but very loud bass going on back there that completely contrasts with the rest of the song. It comes out being totally awkward and hard to lilsten to. That’s probably why the remix in the Ryuuseigun is a lot more simple, catchy, and poppy.
At least the dance is still super-cute for the chorus. Vocal power ranges with whose singing.
And also, for those wondering, my blog has some kind of problem thanks to my FUCKING host putting FUCKING google ads in my source code that I can’t remove and they are causing my feed to go unverified meaning anime nano won’t read it. Advice: DO NOT USE A FREE HOSTING, ESPECIALLY NOT 50GIGS. I’ll probably change my host sometime.
I spent my whole day watching/listening to NicoNicoDouga videos. I’ve listened to the NicoNicoRyuuseigun like 8 times (it’s 14 minutes long) and I’m trying to learn the lyrics so I can perform it at my next con. In the meantime, none of these are necessarily new, but these are the most awesome things I watched on Nico Nico Douga today. If you have no idea what NicoNico is or how to use it, see my other recent posts on it.
1. Hatsune Miku Cosplayer Performing Nico Nico Ryuuseigun – In the event that I were to marry a woman, this would be exactly what she would be like. As in, she’d be a short girl who cosplays Hatsune Miku and can sing and dance the entire Nico Nico Ryuuseigun. Anyway, this is the best thing ever, and what inspired me to learn all of the lyrics to Ryuuseigun.
2. Girl Playing Base For Miku Song – Speaking of girls who are my type, I like girls and I like the bass guitar, so I always love seeing them put together. Longtime readers (lol) may remember me having sever girl-holding-bass site banners back when I was Euphoric field… and when Euphoric Field had banners. Anyway, here’s some girl and bass, courtesy of OmegaDogma.
