My Sword Is Unbelievably Dull 
I’m definitely Hiroyuki Imaishi. Akira Amemiya has some nice animated sequences but too many of them are just flyin background + cool pose. The speedy style of Imaishi’s infuses the show with more energy and is more typically Gainax imo.
Indeed – and a large part of why it is typically GAINAX is that Imaishi is so heavily involved in GAINAX’s productions, hehe. This battle was sold before it started for me because Imaishi is my favorite key animator of all time, though he does have some competition outside of GAINAX… which there will be posts about at some point~

Maximum the Hormone has a pretty recognizable style. You here almost any song by then, even if you haven’t heard it before, and you know its them. Same with Uverworld most of the time.

Imaishi, most definitely. Loved his work in This Ugly and Beautiful World. Pity the rest of the show was a bit of a miss.
Yeah, he was pretty much the only redeeming factor, besides really well-drawn tits. But I can get those elsewhere! *goes to watch more Qwaser*
Imaishi for the fluid stuff that flows so well, not that I dislike Amemiya.
I definitely want to see Amemiya on future projects to flesh out this comparison.
