Summer 2011 Anime Preview in One Minute

Alternate title: Summer 2011 Preview That Took Me Less Than 30 Mins To Write. I’m saying it in hopes it actually happens.

More Appleseed – I hate Appleseed, will not watch.

More Natsume Yuujinchou – First two seasons were great, I’m sure this one will be as well.

N0. 6 – Bones show, noob director and voice actors, will of course give a try.

Usagi Drop – Glad it’s coming out so I don’t have to keep being curious about the manga seeing it in stores. Produciton I.G. used to mean “amazing,” but I hated the last at least 3 things I saw by them, so we’ll see. Also, noob director and voice actors.

More BakaTest – Honestly I didn’t care for the first season, will probably avoid this or just watch an ep or two.

Nekogami Yaoyoruzo – Character designs look fantastic, Sakurai Hiroaki is an excellent comedy director, AIC+ have been good so far, definitely giving a shot, may try manga first.

Dantalian no Shoka – I’ve been interested in the light novel, though it sounds pretty generic. The fact that this is GAINAX and the director is *brand* new makes me highly curious. Also, the mains are played by Sawashiro Miyuki and Ono Daisuke, which is the sexiest combo imaginable.

Blood-C – I love the Blood franchise and this one has CLAMP designs that look awesome. I think this could be a real winner.

Mayo Chiki! – Not sure, but it looks like there might be yuri involved (and it *is* the studio who brought us Kanamemo). Director did Hayate no Gotoku and cast is good so I’ll give it a try.

Ikoku Meiro no Croisee – No idea what this is, Satelight are a mixed bag, director’s only work is Shugo Chara but I do love that show. We’ll see.

The Idolm@ster – Look, I love Idolmaster, the cast is amazing, of course it’s worth a shot. I’m a little worried because A-1 has formed a terrible track record with me lately.

Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi – ZEXCS sucks, it’s from the creator of Legend of the Redundant Title, and nothing of note on production. Probably will skip.

R-15 – On the one hand it sounds deliciously adult and it’s based on a light novel. Also all noob cast. On the other hand, regular AIC sucks, and the director has only done shitty shows. We’ll see.

Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel – I adore the OVA, a hidden gem for sure, but a lot of that is because of Tatsuyuki Nagai. Hopefully the new hands can hold it up as high.

Morita-san wa Mukuchi – The lead is HanaKana. Nuff said.

Yuriyuri – Are you kidding me? Yuri is in the title TWICE. That alone is worth a peak. Oh, and Ohta Masahiko is probably the best comedy anime director ever (Mitsudomoe, Minak-ke).

Nyanpire the Animation – This won’t get subbed but I just think it’s hilarious that Gonzo is back and they’re doing kids’ shows.

Kamisama Dolls – I will watch anything Brains Base does, and the director seems to have done his good stuff recently (he has bad stuff but it’s older). Will definitely look.

Ro-Kyu-Bu! – Awesome cast, director is basically the chief of Seven Arcs but that also means he did the best Nanoha series. Joint of two brand new studios which is really interesting.

Kamisama no Memochou – For some reason it’s not listed on ANN. Based on a novel which has a manga, done by J.C. Staff. Probably worth a look, may check out manga to see what it’s like. Director has worked on some awesome adult dramas (Asatte no Houkou, Yomigaeru Sora) so I hope it’s like those.

Sacred Seven – Sunrise kids show, who knows if it’ll even be subbed, maybe.

Manyuu Hiken-chou – FROM THE PEOPLE WHO BRING YOU QWASER – so hell yes.

Uta no Prince-sama – Big bishounen-fest, probably won’t watch.

FUCK I broke 30 mins. Lets wrap this up.

Milky Holmes Special – If I actually decide to finish the show, then maybe I’ll check this out.

Blade – Madhouse seems intent on doing nothing but adapting American comic series right now. I haven’t checked any of them out, but the temptation of an anime about a black guy may be too strong this time.

Gonna just glimpse through the OVAs and movies for ones I’ll be watching.

Kore wa Zombie special – Yay~

Katteni Kaizou – This should be a hell of a fucking riot and if it’s successful maybe we’ll get a full season~ or just more zetsubou-sensei lol.

More Roberta’s Blood Trail – Not caught up arg.

More Hellsing Ultimate – Will catch up now that I know this actually isn’t dead. There should still be two more after this though I think.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kira – Looks moe as all fuck, I still haven’t seen Rei though :O

Kuttsukiboushi – I may actually finish this retarded, ugly-ass thing.

(I don’t really know why I’m listing movies, since I won’t get to see any of them till at least November, but whatever.)

Sengoku Basara – The Last Party – – That title sounds like this is really a better Devil May Cry anime lol. I skipped S2 but I imagine this could be fucking great.

Towa no Quon – This is gonna be a nightmare like Kara no Kyoukai with the releases but hopefully it’ll also be fucking amazing like the aforementioned movie series. Also Bones doing movies is always good.

FullMetal Alchemist Movie – Again, Bones, movie, good.

Pokemon Best Wishes Movies – Can’t wait for these~ Best Wishes makes everything better~

Hayate no Gotoku – The phrase “Hayate movie by Manglobe” is enough to make my eyebrow shoot off of my head, so I’ll be watching this.

There. Just as this took me 40 minutes to write, I’m sure it took you more than a minute to read. I hope this is somehow helpful, even though I clearly don’t have much of an opinion about anything coming out next season.
