Strike Witches x Iron Maiden – Aces High [AMV/MAD]

Note: The subs are only there for the first part, don’t worry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t embed the youtube vid because embedding keeps screwing with my feed.

There are certain combination you would never, ever expect to happen, and then they do, and somehow are totally fucking awesome. Strike Witches and Aces High seem like they were practically made for each-other in this video. High-octane action and badass power metal collide in epic ways. I should note, though, I listened to music the whole time I watched Strike Witches so a lot of it was like this for me already haha. Awesome vid, which you can watch on NicoNico Douga if you know how (as was covered in my other Nico posts.)

And yeah, I’m obsessed with Nico Nico Douga. I’ve had the ryuuseigun stuck in my head all day.

JAM Project x Idolm@ster – NicoMAD of the Now

For those who missed my last post involving Nico Nico Douga, I’ve recently been addicted to the site many would call ‘otaku youtube.’ In a comment on my last post, Moritheil was kind enough to point out this post on Nico Nico for Dummies, for those of you who don’t know Japanese and want to make an account. You’ll need it, because this video was unfortunately un-findable on youtube (well, I didn’t look that hard), and Nico videos are only viewable with an account and also not imbed-able unless you meet in person with Nico execs (which I guess Sankaku did, the bastards.)

So this video is Idolmaster meets JAM Project. For those who don’t know, Idolmaster is like a rhythm game with dancing pop idols who also happen to all be lolis. It’s a huge thing on Nico Nico, and Berserk manga artist Kentaro Miura recently put his series on hold for 4 months to play Idolmaster (apparently it actually takes that long to beat O-o) If there is one thing that otaku like almost as much as moe, it’s manly epicness, so it’s no surprise that the most epic, manly band around, JAM Project, is featured in a lot of Nico videos. Today, they are the background for Idolmaster awesomeness.

This video is great the whole way through, totally resembling a real JAM Project video whih is awesome, but it really gets great when about a minute’s left and some epic stuff goes down leading to an ending that puts a huge smile on my face. Watch the excellence here if you have a Nico account!

K-On – LET LOOSE THE MADS!

Sankaku Complex reports on the many K-On MADs already appearing after the first episode. (I suggest skipping the first.) (here for those who don’t know what MADs are.) MADs are a pretty good way to put your fingers on the pulse of what the Japanese fans love about a show. Part of the reason that large parts of the Western fandom think there’s something wrong with anime as a whole is because they don’t agree with the Japanese fandom or are unaware of what they like over there.

Hatsune Miku in THE SEXIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN

To some people out there, this vid is prolly old ass news, but there’s always people like me who miss out. Recently, on a site whom I can’t remember, there was a list of the 10 most watched videos in Japan in 2008. This was the number 2. This is easily one of the most awesome fan videos I’ve ever seen and it is sexy beyond all fucking reason. I’ve always loved Hatsune Miku, but this is the kind of thing that makes me swear my life to her. Somewhere between the hat and those dance moves, I was actually made to blush while watching this video.
